About Melbourn
One of the largest villages in the area, Melbourn is situated just off of the A10, three miles from Royston on the South Cambridgeshire side. It is bordered on one side by the River Mel and on the other, by relatively flat farming country.
It has three pubs (The Dolphin, The Star and The Black Horse), a number of retail outlets including a locally renowned butchers, estate agent, small supermarket and hairdresser’s, as well as the famous Sheene Mill and Pink Geranium restaurants.
Melbourn has a primary school and Village College, community sports centre and swimming pool, part-time library and adult education services. All Saint’s church sits proudly in the centre of Melbourn, having watched over village life from as far back as the 12th Century. It also boasts its own science park as well as being one of the UK sites for the PA corporation, which provides employment for the local area.
