About Barrington
Barrington village, located roughly 7 miles south-west of Cambridge and the same distance north-east of Royston, is famous for its unique open stretch of High Street and long village green design, one of the longest in the country. The original layout of the village ran parallel to the river Cam.
Barrington retains a lot of its older architectural buildings, many sitting directly on or overlooking the green. It also has a timbered public house, the Royal Oak, and a large church, All Saint’s, at the end of the village green. Barrington Hall and grounds, dating back to the late 17th Century, have now been opened for public hire.
