Email Mum COVID-19 Policy Statement
The coronavirus outbreak is very concerning for all. But by implementing a policy to minimise potential contact to the virus, we can significantly reduce the risk to Email Mum personnel and clients whilst we work in their homes.
The virus can live on surfaces for a number of days, so all Email Mum staff have been issued with disposable gloves. Each housekeeper will put on a fresh pair before entering any property and will continue to wear these for the duration of the visit, disposing safely of them once they have exited the property. They will also use an alcohol-based anti-bacterial disinfectant sanitiser.
Though the virus can be spread from person to person, there has to be close contact for at least 15 minutes or direct contact with infectious secretions of a COVID-19 case (e.g. being coughed on). All Email Mum staff are aware of this and are adapting their behaviour accordingly, as well as following the government guidelines on hand-washing etc.
By taking these measures, and due to the very nature of our working environment/industry, Email Mum staff are at low risk. However, as an employer respecting workers’ rights, we will pay any housekeeper the necessary statutory sick pay if at any time, they have to self-isolate, so that they are encouraged to stay at home.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely, and will adjust our policy if necessary.
