About Odsey

A tiny hamlet brushing the busy A505 near Royston town, Odsey is probably best known locally for its train station (strangely called Ashwell, though that village is a few miles up the road) and the flinted pub opposite, The Jester.

In early medieval times, it was a quiet monastic grange whose economy centred on farming. It also used to have links with horseracing events reputedly staged on the nearby Therfield Heath, where the Kings Parade stables still operate today.
